Sophie and tonsils.

On Thursday we took Sophie to an ENT doctor to see why she was snoring like and old man when she slept. It turns out she had sleep apnea because her tonsils and adnoids were huge. One of her tonsils was touching the hangy down thing in the back of her throat and the other was pretty close. The doc recommened getting them removed. We were thinking after the first of the year. He wanted to do it Tuesday. Needless to say, we did it on Tuesday. Sophie did great! The surgery couldn't have went any better and the doctor said he was really glad we got them out. Her adnoids were just as big as her tonsils. He wanted us to stay overnight at the hospital because she was so young. Sophie was a real trooper. She took her pain meds without any problems. She started eating right away and she could sleep without needing any oxygen. They actually let us go home on Tuesday night. The nurse said that she took her medicine better than any kid he has seen her age and he works in the pediatric wing. We are now on day three after the surgery and we have learned a few things. First of all, the pain medicine that says will make them drowsy has the exact opposite effect on Sophie. Every time we give it to her she starts running and going a little crazy. We have also learned that Jell-O, Tapioca pudding, and Stove Top stuffing are Sophie's feel better foods. The last thing we are learning today is that the third day post surgery hurts a lot worse than the second day. Here are a few pictures.

This is Sophie right after they brought her to us. She was not really happy about life. She wouldn't let go of the sippy cup or the yellow bear for about an hour.

Here is a close up. We are saving this one for future dates! She still has that, "What just happened look?" With little kids they don't keep them in recovery for very long so she is still coming out of the anesthesia and looks a little out of it! She definitely perked up later in the day.

Halloween!

I can't believe it is already November and Halloween is already gone. We had a fun Halloween. We started the day with a wrestling match in Shelley. We brought the kids home, rested, and then had our own little family carnival. Basically we had the kids eat doughnuts off of a strink without using there hands and then we ate these fun little pepperoni pizza treat. After dinner we started our trek through the neighborhood with some friends. All in all it was a fun night.

Here is our cute little witch.

The three little hooligans!

Wrestling again!

Saturday was the first wrestling match of the season. We were going to only let Ben wrestle this year, but Orrin really loves it and has some actual skill. The boys did really good and we were proud of them.

This is Orrin's first match. He did really well and seemed to have remembered a lot of stuff that he learned last year.

Orrin's first of three matches.

Here is Ben's first match. I don't think he really knew what he was getting into. The first match was over pretty quick, but his second one he realized what was coming and he wrestled really well.

Is the circus hiring?

We have three perfect candidates for the circus! They make life crazy, but we love them.

Sophie is the princess of our house.

This is the life....

Anyone that knows Orrin, knows that he loves everything cowboy, farming, or outdoors related. Lucky for him, he gets to play on Grandpa's farm whenever we go to Utah. This last weekend, Port was helping out on the farm, driving truck for the corn harvest. Orrin pretty much was glued to Port's side or Grandpa's side. He loves everything about farming. He loves to get up early and help his grandpa milk the cows. He considers it an honor if he happens to get manure on his boots, pants, or hat! He loves loves loves riding in the tractors and trucks. He is like a little sponge that absorbs everything that everone is doing around the farm. He drives pretty much everyone crazy with his questions and constant worry that he is going to miss out on something. It makes me laugh because I have three brothers who all went through this same thing! I remember my grandpa commenting about all the questions my littlest brother would ask him. We have a motto in our house, "who needs Disneyland, we have the farm!"

This is Orrin chilling in the corn truck! Port got out of the truck for a minute and when he got back in he saw Orrin like this. What a life! Orrin had found Port's ham sandwich and ate it. When Port asked Orrin why he didn't eat his peanut butter sandwich he said, "Oh! You can eat that one!" This was after Orrin told Port how good his granola bars were. Port pretty much got the leftovers. That'll teach him to get out of the truck!

Two of our guys hauling corn! Ben was with Grandpa in the semi hauling hay.

Cousins! How many boys can you fit on one horse!

Here we go again.....

It is official. Our house will be welcoming baby #4 in May. I am 9 1/2 weeks and we have seen the heartbeat twice. So far everything is looking good. We are really excited and the kids are split on what they want. Ben wants a brother. Orrin wants a sister. You can tell who Sophie gets along with! Port and I don't really care this time around. We want a healthy happy baby! I will be glad when we get past the 13 week mark so I can get past feeling yucky. I think Port will be happy when his wife will get past being completely exhausted! Life is good and we are happy and blessed.

Top of Utah Marathon

Last Saturday we once again headed to Logan so Port could run in the Top of Utah Marathon. He did great! This was his first marathon and he just wanted to finish. He spent the whole week in Florida at a training and he ended up having a chest cold, but he finished. His time was 4 hr. 38 min. We were so happy that he was able to accomplish this goal!

Port and his sisters, Brenda and Carmen, who also ran the race!

Ben's First Day of Preschool!

Ben had his first day of Preschool yesterday. I can't believe he is old enough for this. Where has the time gone? It was so strange being home with only one kid and she was napping. Ben loved his first day. He thought he was so important. He ran to the car afterwards and said, "Mom, I have homework!" He was so excited. We are looking forward to a fun year.

Waiting to go into preschool.

At home before.
